US large company stocks finished 2024 ahead of all other major asset classes. US large company stocks returned 24.51% for the year, compared to small company stocks which returned 11.54% for the year. US Large Growth stocks (which are primarily tech stocks) did even better for the year with returns of 33.36% for the year. International stocks and real estate stocks were positive but lagged behind. Much of this lagging occurred in the 4th quarter, where the international stocks were down -7.43% and global real estate was down -9.02% while US Large Company stocks were up 2.75%. This makes two years in a row where US Large Company stocks have performed better than other major asset classes, which may draw even more investors into overweighting in this asset class.
